SALT PRODUCTION
Fodder salt is produced in compliance with GSTU 18.17-97. It is meant for use in animal breeding according to norms and rations for fattening of agricultural animals and birds.

Initial material for production of fodder salt is a food sodium chloride for industrial use.

Fodder salt may be loose (milled and non-milled), large-sized, and compacted (baled).
FODDER SALT
Salt is vital not only for humans, but also for animals. In wild nature animals lick salt on stones or eat salt in salt grots. For example, Kenyan elephants for many years produce salt in such caves, forming in that way very long tunnels. In animal breeding salt is very popular – it is used in the form of additive to fodder for large and small cattle, birds, fur game.

It is necessary to purchase a salt brick to provide correct development of bone tissue and wool, high milk yield, good reproduction. The salt brick is also used for prophylaxis of diseases for young animals. This is an effective method for increase of appetit and digestibility of fodders, avoidance of weight loss.

Farmers which take care on their animals always know what fodder
salt it is necessary to buy. If you buy loose fodder salt, big animals will spurn it. If you use salt for animal breeding in the form of additive, in case of greater dose it will lead to salt deposition in joints, diseases of reins of animals. That is why fodder salt is usually produced in the form of bricks.

Advantage of salt pressed into bricks is that animals may lick as much salt as they need. Salt brick is placed into feed box or is hanged – in this way the salt brick will be always available for animals. Notice that if you use a salt brick, you should provide animals with enough amount of water. High density of salt brick allows to stand temperature drops and precipitations. You may purchase many salt bricks – they may be stored for a long time without loosing their properties.
