Fodder chalk (MRTU 21-41-69) is used in the form of white amorphous powder or balls. It is not soluble in water. Chalk contains (%): calcium - about 37, silicone – no more than 1, potassium - 0,5, sodium - 0,3, phosphorous - 0,1-0,2.
Fodder chalk is introduced into rations of young pigs in amount of up to 1 %, in rations of adult pigs – in amount of up to 2 % from dry matter of fodder.
Fodder chalk is used in case of deficit of calcium in rations of animals. In 100 g of chalk there are about 37 g of calcium. Chalk is also used for deoxidation of silage of ration.
